I am looking
at wooden crosses
so old
that nothing
is written
on them anymore,
there are
huge stacks
of crosses
here,
there are
crosses leaning
against
fine marble
tombs,
there are
crosses thrown
into the
trees,
there are
a dozen crosses
sticking on
the same
grave.

Je regarde
des croix en bois
si vieilles
que plus rien
n'est écrit
sur elles,
1l y a
d'énormes tas
de croix
ici,
il y a
des croix appuyées
contre
des tombes
de marbre fin,
il y a
des croix jetées
dans les
arbres,
il y a
une douzaine de croix
fichées dans
la même
tombe.

was a Christ-like goldfish
